Lenovo P70 with 4000mAH Battery,Hands on Review,Benchmark,Unboxing,Pros & Cons

           
          Lenovo P70 is a Dual sim mid range device from Lenovo,priced at about Rs.16,000 in retail outlets. The huge battery capacity of 4000mAh is  the main highlight of the device and the Lenovo claims it can provide standby times of over 46 days(2G),30.5 days on 4G, and 29 days on 3G.

          Even more Lenovo has provided some smart features to enhance overall battery performance,like the device will automatically shut down background apps once the user lock the device,and while charging it smartly utilizes the charge from the socket after the phone is fully charged and still charging to avoid wasting the phone’s fully charged battery.So it definitely sound like a great deal in case of battery backup ,But how will be the performance and other aspects,Don't worry we have done the full review and here is what we found out.

DESIGN

             Lenovo P70 is a 5inch display device with 142 x 71.8 x 8.9 mm dimensions and weighs 149g .So it definitely not the slimmest device in this price range but was very well build indeed.  Lenovo has provided a very premium feel to the device with slight protruded display(Not Gorilla glass) and solid plastic Dual tone lining which runs across the device give a Sturdy fell to the device .Lenovo has provide flat reflective top and bottom while the side curved ergonomically which give good grip and feel while holding the device.

             Talking about the key placements of the device Lenovo has provided 3 capacitive buttons( Backlit) on the front panel ,the lock/unlock key and volume rockers are provided on the right hand of the device while the left hand side is completely balnk. The  3.5mm audio slot is provide at the top while the USB port and the two speaker grills are placed at bottom.The back panel is provided a matte mettalic finish which will resist finger print.Lenovo  has also provide the noise cancellation mic on the top while the voice reception mic is placed at the bottom.The device also comes with  inbuilt non-removable 4000mAh battery.

DISPLAY

               Lenovo P70 sports a 5inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of  720x1280 pixels which gives a very crisp display with no visible pixelation.But the viewing angles were not uniform form all sides as expected especially when viewing from right handside the colors look washed out .The display has a colour depth of 16M colours which makes it extremely vibrant.They have not provided any scratch protection on the device which is little disappointing.

CAMERA

          Lenovo P70 sports a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing shooter.The 13MP primary camera supports Autofocus,Touch focus,HDR,Smile detection,Face detection,Zero shutter delay mode and has a new slow motion videos capturing.It can take pictures at a maximum resolution of 3120 x 4160 pixels,and supports video recording in 1080p with simultaneous image capturing.The 5MP secondary camera is fixed focus and supports features like Face detection,Face detection,Zero shutter delay mode and can record videos at 480p .The front camera doesn't supports simultaneous image and video capturing .

          In our test he primary camera was not that responsive it took little time for focusing and capturing.But in the zero shutter delay modes it was much faster.The image quality of the device is not as high as i expected from 13MP camera but it was definitely better than an 8MP one.

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

            Lenovo P70 comes with  64bit 1.7GHz Octa-core Mediatek MT6752 coupled with 2GB of RAM.The  Mediatek MT6752   is a Octa core ARM cortex A53 based chipset and sports Mali-T760 MP2 @ 700 MHz which will ensure great gaming and multimedia performance.In our test with Nenamark 2 the device scored 56.4fps  which is  a good score.  When it comes to antutu Benchmark the device scored 39344 in the Antutu v4.5, which is an great score considering the price point .

                 Lenovo P70 we reviewed has 16GB of internal storage  out of which  approx 11.46GB is user available(which include preinstalled Asphalt 8),which is allocated as phone memory and since its is unified the user will get 11.46GB for installation of apps.In case of RAM out of 2GB, 1.3GB is user available apart from having lot of customization, which shows the RAM management of the device is really good . The device does support sports a micro SD card expansion upto 32GB.Lenovo has only provided 3 basic sensors  Accelerometer, Light, Proximity sensors in this device which is little disappointing.

             Lenovo has provided customized version of  Android 4.4.2 KitKat for this device.The user interface of the device is customized and support different themes,and has features like  Power saving mode,compact video player(re sizing enabled),Busy mode,Cast screen.

              The other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP,Wi-Fi , GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G  & 4G LTE.Lenovo P70 also comes with 4000mAh non removable  battery .
