Xiaomi has announced it entry level smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 2A a few months ago and now today Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed it will go on sale at just 499 Yuan in China (approximately 80$).The Redmi 2A packs home grown Leadcore 1860C chipset and offers 4G connectivity at budget price. The Leadcore L1860 chipset is the first Chinese designed and manufactured processor to power an Android smartphone and the application of these processor will help Xiaomi to reduce cost of future smartphone.
Xiaomi Redmi 2A be a Dual sim device and sports a 4.7inch IPS LCD Display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 312ppi pixel density .
It will be powered by 1.5 GHz Quad core Leadcore L1860C processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.The Leadcore L1860C sports a Mali-T628 MP2GPU and will ensure good gaming and multimedia performance.The Redmi 2A also comes with 8GB internal memory options which is expandable via micro SD card upto 32GB.The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 ,Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB , GPRS/ EDGE, 3G & 4G LTE
The camera department will sports 8MP Auto focus primary camera and 2MP front facing shooter .The 8MP primary camera will support 1080p video recording while the front camera is expected to record videos at 720p .The device runs on Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) and will have Li-Ion 2200mAh battery .
