Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 is a selfie focused smartphone from Micromax with 8MP front facing camera with LED flash which can be said as the biggest marketing point of the device . Infact Micromax has has even provided a free selfie stick with device especially for selfie lovers.
In terms of design Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 follows similar design to Unite 3 but with 4.8inch display size and added Gorilla Glass protection.
Talking about the key placements on the front panel of Canvas Selfie 3 houses 8MP fixed focus front camera with LED flash and speaker grill on top while there is no capacitive buttons at the bottom since they are integrated into the display itself. The lock/unlock key and the shutter button are provided on the right hand side while the volume rockers are placed on the left . The 3.5mm audio slot,voice reception mic and USB 2.0 port is placed at bottom while the top panel is left completely blank. The back panel is provided a matte finish which will resist finger print.The device also comes with non removable 2300mAh battery which is great for a device with 4.8inch AMOLED display.

Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 sports a 8MP primary as well as secondary camera both with LED flash. The 8MP primary camera supports Autofocus,Touch focus,Gesture shot,Face and smile detection and can take pictures at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. Both cameras are capable of 1080p video recording while the primary camera supports modes like Normal, Panorama, Sports, Night shot, HDR. The 8MP secondary camera is fixed focused while it support face detection and modes like Normal,Wide angle selfie and beauty mode.
HARDWARE & SOFTWARE
The camera app did had approx 1sec delay in capturing images but was able produce some good quality images . The color reproduction were accurate and the details in image hold good even in zooming. I was actually more impressed by the secondary camera which was able some nice selfies.
Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 comes with 1.3 GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6582 coupled with 1GB of RAM. Mediatek MT6582 is a cotex A7 core based processor and sports a Mali 400MP2 GPU which delivers decent gaming performance for the device. In our test with Nenamark 2 the device scored 55.2fps which is a decent score for a quad core processor . When it comes to antutu Benchmark ,it scored 19717 in the Antutu v5.7, which is again a decent score. It was able to play both 720p and 1080p video but the 1080p video playback had little buffering while skip through the video(watch video review to know more).
Micromax Canvas Selfie 3 has 8GB of internal storage out of which approx 4GB is user available,which is allocated as phone memory and since its is unified the user will get 4GB for installation of apps. In case of RAM out of 1GB, 478MB is user available. Canvas Selfie 3 also support sports a micro SD card expansion upto 32GB. Micromax has provided basic sensors like Accelarometer,Proximity,light,magnetic(e-compass) but lacks the gyrosensor.

Canvas Selfie 3 comes with slightly customized version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but we could feel the stock android especially in dialer and dropdown menu. The UI was very responsive but doesn't support moving of apps into memory card and has no separate app drawer. The Micromax has also included a new feature called smart awake which assigns the predefined apps to a group of alphabets which the user can draw on lockscreen to easily access the app.
The other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1,Wi-Fi , GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB , GPRS/ EDGE, 3G. Canvas Selfie 3 also comes with 2300mAh non removable battery which great for a 4.8inch AMOLED display device.
