Recently there were reports suggesting that Samsung will bring in display fingerprint scanner on a couple of new devices and one device could be the flagship next gen Galaxy S10 while the others were unknown at that time. Now today, the popular leakster Sammobile has revealed that the upcoming Galaxy P30 series smartphone may carry a cheaper version of an in display fingerprint scanner.
According to the leakster Samsung is working on two new smartphones dubbed as Galaxy P30 and P30+ with model number SM-G6200 which will have an in display fingerprint scanner whereas these devices are said to be exclusive to the Chinese smartphone market only. According to another popular leakster @MMDDJ, the Galaxy P30 and P30+ would be the first Samsung devices to carry an in-screen fingerprint sensor and will feature LCD panel which is generally considered to be incompatible with an in-display fingerprint sensor. But he claims that JDI is making a new in-display sensor for Samsung which will even work through LCD screen.
There were also reports that Samsung Galaxy P30 and P30+ might unveil as early as next month, which implies the company is in a hurry to launch its first device with in display fingerprint scanner. Recall early reports which suggest that the flagship Galaxy S10 would feature Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner from Qualcomm and it will be first device to have a Snapdragon 855 SoC which will be based on the 7nm process and it is expected to launch at CES 2019 in January.
