Vivo APEX with 98% Screen,Indisplay Fingerprint scanner Officially Launched in China

Its just a few days ago Chinese smartphone maker Vivo introduced a new concept smartphone called “APEX” at the Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. Today in China there was a presentation of the device where, according to local media, it was announced that the device will go into mass production (and, accordingly, on sale) this summer, and its flagship chipset Snapdragon 845 will become its "heart." There are not much known about the other specifications.

Apex FullView, has a amazing 98% screen to body ratio and with Half screen In-display Fingerprint Scanner. Earlier when Synaptics launched its in-display finger scanners, they mentioned about phase 3 type  that can scan fingerprints only from particular place , while phase 4 implementation would allow fingerprint scanning anywhere on the screen as the manufacturer desire.  Half-Screen In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology also enables new usage scenarios, such as the new dual-fingerprint scanning feature in APEX  for even greater strengthened security.

The Vivo X20 Plus UD that was already announced, with fingerprint reader embedded under the phone's display, is still phase 3, but now Vivo comes out with Apex, which can be deemed as a phase 3.5. The phone lets you place your fingers anywhere on the bottom half of the display, and unlock it, or authorize apps to do stuff. That's not all, as Appex has a near bezel-less design they have found a clever way, a pop-up mechanism for the selfie camera, making it a pop-up in 0.8 seconds when it is required and retracts after use .

In addition, there is “Screen SoundCasting” that sends vibrations through the display without the need for a traditional loudspeaker. Compared to other audio solutions for bezel-less smartphones, it conserves power, reduces sound leakage, and optimizes low to high pith sound for a better and more balanced audio experience. Anyhow Vivo Apex is just a concept, it would be interesting to see how much of it will translate to final product.
