It's merely two week left for the official unveiling of flagship Mate 20 series smartphones from Huawei, which is scheduled on October 16 in London, and recently the devices has been spotted in numerous leaks. Now today an Israeli publication has shared the promotional materials of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones revealing key specifications, features and pricing of the device.
Recall early a leaked spec sheet has revealed that the Mate 20 is having a codename Hima which will pack a 4,000mAh battery and the more premium Mate 20 Pro with codename as Laya may arrive with 4,200mAh battery. Now according to the latest leaks both smartphones would feature Huawei’s next-generation SuperCharge 2.0 technology which reportedly only take 30 minutes to reach up to 70 percentage of its battery capacity.
The leaked promo also revealed that both Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will feature 24-megapixel front camera for selfies, while on the rear there will be a triple camera setup. It further revealed that, instead of the telephoto lens available in the triple camera module of the Huawei P20 Pro, the Mate 20 duo may arrive with an ultra wide-angle sensors. Moreover, both flagship smartphones will feature a new AI Smart Zoom that can even detect moving object and automatically focus on it.
Both Mate 20 and 20 Pro will have HiVision feature that will work like Google Lens for searching text, goods, scenic spots, etc, by pointing the camera of Huawei flagships on any object. The Mate 20 Pro will also support necessary sensors for 3D facial recognition which will be similar to the Face ID present on the new iPhones, and the new promo images also state that Huawei’s 3D Face Unlock feature offers a unlocking speed of 500ms and has a failure rate of 1:1000000. On the other hand, the Mate 20 will only support 2D facial recognition.
The leaked teaser also suggest that Huawei has added another way to unlock the Mate 20 and 20 Pro dubbed as Bone Voice ID. Through this new technology Mate 20 series smartphones can instantly unlock by detecting the users voice, and the company also claims that it can work accurately even in noisy surroundings. Recent reports has also revealed that Mate 20 Pro will be equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner whereas the Mate 20 will feature a regular rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are expected to be powered by Kirin 980 processor which is the world’s first 7nm chipset, the base model of both smartphones will be coupled with 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. These smartphones will support expandable storage but there will be no microSD card, instead the promotional materials reveal that these smartphones will support a new type of nanoSD memory card which is having storage up to 256 GB. The upcoming flagship smartphones from Huawei will also support easy wireless projection for desktop PC experience.

Apart from the above features the Mate 20 Pro will feature a 6.9-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ resolution while Mate 20 may arrive with a 6.53 inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution. The Mate 20 Pro will be an IP67 certified device whereas the Mate 20 will be an IP53 rated smartphone. Both phones are expected to arrive with EMUI 9.0 based Android 9 Pie OS and will be equipped with stereo speakers , 3.5mm audio jack. In Israel, the Mate 20 is expected to be priced around NIS 3,000 (~$840 US dollar) and Mate 20 Pro may have a price tag of NIS 4,000 (~$1,115 US dollar).
