It's just few days ago we reported about the leaked promotional materials of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones which revealed key specifications, features and pricing of the device (here). Now today the popular leakster XDA Developers has managed to unearth some more details regarding the the Mate 20 from it's firmware files while also confirming some earlier rumors.
According to the firmware files the regular Huawei Mate 20 will feature a large 6.53-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1080 × 2244p and will pack a 4,000mAh battery. While, the premium Mate 20 Pro will arrive with a 6.3-inch AMOLED dual edge display and will pack a 4,200mAh battery. Recall early there were reports that both devices may carry support for wireless charging and they would be capable of charging the Freebuds 2 Pro wirelessly by placing them on the rear panel of the device, now the latest firmware inspection does confirm these features too.
There is also references to Wireless Easy Projection in the firmware which was a debuted last year as a rival to the Samsung DeX. The leaked firmware files further revealed that the Mate 20 series will also debut a wireless alternative that will work with 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connections, and a recent report has revealed that Samsung is working on a similar solution. The firmware files also reveals information regarding the HiVision which is expected to be an alternative to Google Lens and it will be capable of recognizing food, and identifying its nutritional value and calorie count. In addition to this, HiVision will use Microsoft Translator to translate text in real-time and it will support several languages like English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, German, and Portuguese. According to the recently released promo material the Mate 20 is expected to be priced around NIS 3,000 (~$840 US dollar) and Mate 20 Pro may have a price tag of NIS 4,000 (~$1,115 US dollar) in Israel.
