HMD Global has officially launched a brand new X series smartphone dubbed Nokia X7 (will be known as Nokia 7.1 Plus outside China) in China. The device is having a tall display with wider notch design and ZEISS branded dual cameras on the rear. In China the smartphone will be available in three variants which consist of multiple RAM and internal storage units with four color options such as Dark Blue, Night Red, Magic Night Silver and Magic Night Black.
The Nokia X7 features a 6.18-inch IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution of 2246×1080 and aspect ratio 18.7:9. The display also sports 86.5-percent screen space, 96-percent NTSC and DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR video playback, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500nits of brightness. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC ( clocked at 2.2 GHz) coupled with three variants such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out the box and will pack a 3,500mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 .
The smartphone is having a rear dual camera module with 12MP Sony IMX363 main sensor and a 13MP secondary sensor, it also supports features like Optical Image Stabilization, dual PD autofocus, AI scene detection and optimized low-light photography. On the front there will be a 20MP camera with aperture f/2.0 and it also support AI features like beauty mode, portrait mode and studio lights. Other connectivity features included in the smartphone are dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.
The Nokia X7 measures 154.8 x 75.7 x 7.97mm with a series-6000 magnesium alloy frame sandwiched between glass panels on the front and rear sides. The 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage variant is having a price tag of 1,699 Yuan (~$245 US dollar), while 6 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage is price at 1,999 Yuan (~$289) and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage has a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (~$361). The pre-orders of the Nokia X7 have begun through various platforms like Nokia’s official online store and JD in China and the device will be available for purchase from October 23.
