Huawei Mate 20 and Pro 7nm Kirin 980 SoC & Ultra-Fast Charging is Now Official


             Huawei has officially unveiled four new Mate 20 series smartphones in London which consist of the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro,  the Mate 20 X and Mate 20 Porsche Design. These flagship smartphone arrives with a whole new design and the company has also claimed it is be the best android device when compared with its rival especially Apple in every aspect.

Huawei Mate 20 
              

              The Huawei Mate 20 features a 6.53-inch RGBW DCI-P3 HDR LCD display with resolution 2240 x 1080  and aspect ratio  18.7:9 . The display offers 820 nits of brightness with a low power consumption and  has up to a screen-to-body ratio of 88.08%. It is powered by the latest the Kirin 980 chipset  which is the first 7nm SoC in the world with dedicated dual NPU that has 150% increase in performance over last generation. The processor is coupled with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage which can be expanded using Huawei's nanoSD card  up to 256GB. The device run on runs Android Pie with EMUI 9.0 out of the box and will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.
             The triple camera module of Mate 20 is having a  12MP main sensor ( 27mm lens) with  aperture f/1.8 +  16MP  ultra-wide lens (17mm) with  aperture f/2.2 + 8MP (52mm) telephoto camera with aperture f/2.4. the rear camera has a 2x zoom that can accommodate all the landscape and there is also 2.5cm /1 in macro mode with AI features. On the front there is a 24MP selfie camera for stellar  photography. The other features included in the  Mate 20 is  a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP53 rating, and there is also a 3.5mm audio jack.

              The Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a 6.39-inch OLED display with 2K+ resolution 3120 x 1440 and aspect ratio 19.5:9. It is having a 86.90% screen-to-body ratio which seems smaller than the Mate 20, there is also a wide DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR  support. It is powered by the same the Kirin 980 chipset coupled with  6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage which can be expanded via nanoSD card.

              The device run on EMUI 9.0 based Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and will pack a 4,200mAh battery which can charge in just half an hour. The Mate 20 Pro is the first Huawei device to feature the new 40W SuperCharge fast charge technology and the company has claimed that the device can get 70% in just 30 minutes and it has the TUV Rheinland certification. The Mate 20 Pro also supports 15W wireless charging and it is the first device to support wireless reverse charging which can charge other phones that support the Qi standard.


            The triple camera module of Mate 20 features a 40MP Quad Bayer sensor with  f/1.8 wide-angle lens + a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens + an 8MP 80mm f/2.2 telephoto camera with OIS. These cameras also support a number of interesting features such as Super HDR, AR features, macro photography and low-light photography. There is also a new technology called FusionMind which does 4-in-1 pixel-binning which improve the low-light shots even further. The information combined from all sensors are used to form ultra-macro shots, and Huawei claimed that these sensors are capable of providing a clear images from a distance of just an inch or so.  On the front there is a 24MP selfie camera . 

             The smartphone is having a in display fingerprint scanner and a much improved face unlocking feature that uses 3D depth-sensing tech like the iPhone XS. The larger notch on the Mate 20 Pro houses a huge amount of new tech to enable this, including an infrared camera, dot projector, and time-of-flight proximity sensors. There is also a new Huawei Password Vault, which stores passwords for apps similar to Google’s Autofill. It also has a 3D model scanning feature which allows it to scan objects which can be used in AR mode. The Mate 20 Pro has IP68 certification and  boasts stereo speakers which is integrated inside the USB-C port.


               The Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro will be available in five color options such as Classic Black, Twilight, Pink Gold, Midnight Blue, and Emerald Green. The base Huawei Mate 20 starts at €800 for the 4/128GB variant and goes up to €850 for the 6/128GB model, while the  Huawei Mate 20 Pro is having a price tag of €1,050 for the 6GB of RAM +128GB storage. Both smartphones will go on sale from today itself.
