At the Mate 20 series launch event in London Huawei has also unveiled a game centric device dubbed the Mate 20 X with a larger display, battery capacity and it is compatible with styluses. Huawei highlighted the device with higher gaming performance and its vapor chamber cooling design which is combined with “graphene film cooling technology,” the processor is kept super cooled even under heavy loads.
The Mate 20X features a large 7.2-inch OLED display with the same resolution 2244 x 1080 of the Mate 20 whereas the Mate 20 Pro has 3120 x 1440 pixel. It is powered by the Kirin 980 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage like the Mate 20 Pro. The smartphone also arrives with GPU Turbo 2.0 to increase its gaming performance and uses Huawei Supercool technology which consists of a vapor chamber and a graphene film. The device run on runs EMUI 9.0 on top of Android 9.0 Pie and will pack 5,000mAh battery with support for SuperCharge.
The triple camera module of Mate 20 X features a 40-megapixel main sensor with aperture f/1.8 + 20-megapixel telephoto lens with aperture f/2.4 + 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and these lenses can work together to capture ultra-macro shots from a very close distance of 2.5cm. On the front there is a 24MP camera for selfies, but the smartphone lacks the 3D facial recognition. The M Pen shipping along with the Huawei Mate 20 X is borrowed from the MediaPad M5 Pro and it has a 4096 pressure levels with stellar precision, improved productivity, and superior creativity, but it has to be purchased separately.
