After few years from launching Canvas 4 which very successful that time, Micromax has unveiled the Micromax Canvas 5 with midrange specifications. The design aspect of the device looks pretty interesting with metallic frame and according to Micromax the device has visual thickness of 4.8mm while the actual thickness is 8.3mm if it makes any sense. The handset carries a price tag of INR 11,999 and is available through both online and offline channels.
The Micromax Canvas 5 will sport a 5.2inch display with resolution of 1920x1080pixels and 424ppi pixel density and features 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Micromax Canvas 5 will be powered by 64bit 1.5GHz Octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Mediatek MT6752 is a Octa core ARM cortex A53 based chipset and sports Mali-T720 which will ensure high end gaming and multimedia performance. Micromax Canvas 5 also comes with 16GB internal memory expandable via micro SD card .The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n( dual band, hotspot), GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G & 4G LTE.
The camera department sports 13MP Auto focus primary camera(Samsung 3M2 image sensor) with Dual LED Flash and 5MP front facing shooter. The device will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which promises update to Marshmallow and will have 2900mAh battery.
