At the Mate 20 series launch event Huawei has also unveiled two new wearable devices, the Watch GT and Band 3 Pro. Like the other latest smartwatches, the Watch GT doesn’t run on WearOS rather, it uses Huawei’s own LightOS and the company promises a great battery life with all the fitness tracking features. Meanwhile the Huawei Fitness Band 3 Pro arrives with built-in GPS, AMOLED touchscreen, and water-resistance capabilities .
The Huawei Watch GT features a circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454p and 326ppi pixel density. It is powered by a Cortex-M4 chipset coupled with 16MB RAM and 128MB ROM. According to Huawei its battery can last up to 30 days if the heart rate monitoring is off and can last for 2 weeks if heart rate tracking is used. If the GPS, heart-rate monitoring, and exercise monitoring ( for 1:30 hour per week ) are kept on continuously, the smartwatch will last for 22 hours.
Huawei has given the Watch GT a very classic look with a dual crown and it is made out of 316L stainless steel with ceramic bezels. The Huawei Watch GT has an optical heart rate sensor on its bottom which uses 6 LEDs and Huawei uses TruSeen 3.0 technology will opt self-learning algorithms to improve its heart rate monitoring more efficiently and accurately over time. There's also an intelligent sleep quality monitor, and an AI energy consumption algorithm that will work to achieve the long battery life. The watch also features GPS that can be used to tracking FOR daily activity and training in conjunction with Huawei’s Health Assistant app. It is also having a wide number of workout types from swimming to mountain-climbing whereas the Watch GT will also offer a coaching mode.
The Watch GT measurements 46.5x46.5x10.6 mm and weighs 46 grams (without the strap), it also arrives in Sport version and a stylish Classic one, and offers a wide variety of straps such as graphite black silicone strap, saddle brown leather silicone strap, glacier grey silicone strap, fluorescent green silicone strap color options. The Huawei Watch GT is water-resistant up to 50 metres, hosts a barometer, compass, and altimeter, it also supports Bluetooth v4.2, and NFC but does not have a Wi-Fi support. The Huawei Watch GT in Classic (leather band) variant is priced at €249 ($289 US dollar) and Sport (silicone band) variants has a price tag of €199 ($230)
On the other hand Huawei Band 3 Pro fitness band features a 0.95-inch AMOLED display with resolution 120x240 pixels and 2.5D glass protection. The fitness band is powered by an Applo 3 chip and will pack a 100mAh battery (100 minutes charging time) which will last for seven hours of continuous GPS tracking, and also offers 5ATM water proofing. Huawei Band 3 Pro will be available in metal frame and a silicone strap, and can tracks heart-rate, sleep, smart sports tracking and coaching. The dimensions of the Fitness Band 3 Pro are 45x19x11mm, and it weighs 25 grams including the strap. It has three different color options such as Obsidian Black, Space Blue, and Quicksand Gold. It also supports Bluetooth v4.2, and includes a 6-axis acceleration sensor, detached PPG cardiotachometer, and an infrared wear sensor.
